本体には、メンズのジャケットやコート用に織られた上質な遠州織物（えんしゅうおりもの）のデッドストック生地を使用。織り目が美しい反面、クラシカルになりがちなヘリンボーンを、現代のライフスタイルにもフィットするデザインに仕立てました。浜松木綿で作られた温かみのある遠州織物を、気軽に日常でお楽しみください。

遠州織物とは

遠州（えんしゅう）とは大井川より西の静岡県西部エリアで、温暖な気候と豊かな水により、日本三大綿織物の産地として知られるほど綿花の栽培が栄えた地。

それに合わせ、機屋（はたや＝織物業）や染屋（そめや＝染色業）も発達しました。

特に浜松市は天竜川が近く、また日本トップクラスの日照量を誇り、「遠州のからっ風」と呼ばれるほど強い風が吹くため、生地の染料やノリを落とす「水洗」、洗った織物を乾燥させる「干場」にとても適した土地でした。

細い糸を緻密に織る技術は世界的にも評価されており、今日でも、ヨーロッパのハイブランドがパリコレクションやミラノコレクションで使用する生地が遠州で作られています。

About Enshu textiles

Enshu is an area in western Shizuoka Prefecture west of the Oi River. With a warm climate and abundant water, cotton cultivation flourished here, making it known as one of Japan's three major cotton textile producing regions.

Accordingly, weaving shops (hataya = textile industry) and dyeing shops (someya = dyeing industry) also developed here.

Hamamatsu City, in particular, is located near the Tenryu River and boasts one of the highest amounts of sunlight in Japan. The wind is so strong that it is known as the “Enshu wind,” making it an ideal place for washing fabrics to remove dye and glue and for drying washed fabrics.

The technique of weaving fine threads in particular is highly regarded worldwide, and even today, fabrics used by high-end European brands for the Paris and Milan collections are made in Enshu.
