Sumo, an ancient Japanese ritual, involves throwing salt and stomping the ground to purify the earth and pray for bountiful harvests. It values elegant forms and formal etiquette, where wrestlers compete fairly in skill and strength. The sight of rikishi colliding in the circular ring is truly powerful. To celebrate and give thanks for a good harvest, sake, Japan’s traditional rice wine, is offered and enjoyed. This frag rance is inspired by the elegant “ginjo aroma” of sake. The top n otes f eature t he s cent o f g injo sake (Ginjyo Bouquet), capturing the dignity and beautiful movements of the wrestlers. From the middle to the base notes, a strong ester bouquet is created with floral musk and a hint of vanilla, reminiscent of the oil used to style the traditional topknot (chonmage).
